I was drawn to textiles from an early age. Being the tactile woman that I am, it feels so natural for me to incorporate it into my paintings, like making my own recipe with my favorite ingredients. I love going to the fabric store and delight in seeing and selecting from the beautiful array of colors and textures of cloths that line the isles.

Returning to my studio, I begin to attach the fabrics and yarns. I receive such pleasure witnessing the visual and physical stimulation through the senses as my work merges together. I think of these works as spiritual in nature, I've spent a great deal of time experimenting with painting, and integrating my spiritual practice of meditation and the healing Japanese art of Reiki to foster healing. This work is born out of a desire to heal my past, as well as bringing back and maintaining equilibrium within my being.
